OVERVIEW

 

INCYT’s Sentek Triscan soil moisture probe is the ideal soil moisture probe for irrigated crops where the probe gets installed and removed every cropping season. This so-called ‘drill and drop’ probe is easy to install, with a step-by-step guide available in the INCYT academy. Understanding soil moisture levels in irrigated fields is essential for effective crop management decisions, influencing everything from optimising irrigation to knowing the exact right time for applying PGRs, fertilisers or defoliants. INCYT’s software is industry-leading, meaning that you get the best possible visualisation of your soil moisture probe data, through the most user-friendly app interface. With INCYT you say ‘no’ to connectivity issues, difficult-to-use apps and hard-to-read graphs. You can share this your soil moisture probe data with anyone you like through the INCYT cockpit.

 

 

HOW IT WORKS

 

INCYT’s soil moisture probes utilise INCYT’s XR network, so you’re not restricted to only using this in areas where you’ve got a cellphone signal - as long as your desired soil moisture probe location is within reach of a INCYT base station, you’re able to use it there! The soil moisture probe gets paired up with an INCYT blue node, giving you up to 8-10 (!) years of battery life!

 

You can either buy a Sentek installation kit through INCYT, or we also have a number of these kits available that you can borrow for your installation (as long as you don’t forget to ship it back to us!). These seasonal soil moisture probes can either be installed in the exact same spot each season to get readings you can compare year over year, or you can find a new representative spot each time you install this soil moisture probe so you learn all about the different soil characteristics you’re working with.

 

Once you’ve picked your spot, you follow the step-by-step guide on installing the probe and erecting a pole to install your blue node on. When you get close to harvesting your crop you simply remove your Sentek soil moisture probe with a probe removal kit (available through INCYT).
